Happy to Hit the Books; Override Funds Restore Library Access for Middle-Schoolers Print E-mail

Sixth-graders used their school library to do research for a social studies project.

Working in the library has been an ordinary occurrence this year, but it's a luxury the students of North Andover Middle School did not enjoy in recent years.

School officials reopened the library this year by hiring a full-time librarian with $58,500 from a $1.65 million Proposition 21/2 tax override approved last spring. The library was closed last year and only open on occasion the year before, because the school couldn't afford to pay a librarian.
