Why... do we recommend Rick Nardella and Tracy Watson for Board of Selectmen?NAU’s research shows that Rick Nardella and Tracy Watson are the best candidates for Board of Selectmen because they demonstrate the following: Significant prior experience with North Andover town government Strong financial and management experience Proven collaborative solutions approach Creative and practical plans for future development in North Andover
Rick Nardella has served on the North Andover Planning Board for 18 years. Tracy Watson has served on both the Housing Board and the School Department Facilities Review Committee. Rick and Tracy have demonstrated their financial abilities and leadership skills throughout their tenure on these boards. Both candidates have articulated specific and actionable plans for executing effective commercial development for North Andover. They clearly understand that effective commercial development will positively impact town revenue, property values, town services and our schools. Both Rick and Tracy have exhibited a willingness to build on the collaboration of the Joint Resolution signed last year by the Board of Selectmen, the School Committee and the Finance Committee. Additionally, both have invested significant time with our current elected town and state officials to better understand the complexities facing North Andover. Most importantly, Richard and Tracy have both the expertise and commitment to get the job done. We would be remiss if we did not acknowledge Don Stewart’s long standing service and commitment to the Town of North Andover. While we find him a worthy candidate, we believe that Tracy Watson and Rick Nardella are the best leaders for North Andover at this time. Top of Page
Why... do we recommend Stan Limpert and Chris Nobile for School Committee?NAU’s research shows that Stan Limpert and Chris Nobile are the best candidates for School Committee because they demonstrate the following: - Comprehensive understanding of the varied and complex issues
- Strong management and financial experience
- Proven collaborative solutions approach
- Personally invested in the North Andover School System
Mr. Limpert regularly attends School Committee meetings, has served on the Facilities Review Committee and has taught tech-ed at North Andover High School. Mr. Nobile has been in discussions with current School Committee members, state legislators, Superintendent Marini, Special Ed Director Joyce Laundre, and teaching staff about the complex issues involving North Andover’s schools. Both individuals have strong financial experience in their professional careers and are committed to leveraging these skills to ensure fiscally prudent management of our School Department budget. Most importantly, their commitment to North Andover schools is evident as they both have children who attend or have graduated from the North Andover School system. In stark contrast to Mr. Limpert and Mr. Nobile is the third candidate for School Committee, Michael Quinlan. Mr. Quinlan does not demonstrate the important qualifications listed above. He calls for higher standards, lower budgets with no realistic means to achieve these oft stated goals. Amazingly, he has signed a petition to abolish the Massachusetts state income tax and, when asked, could not explain how North Andover schools would be funded without any state income tax. Equally disconcerting is the fact that Mr. Quinlan seeks a seat on the School Committee, yet he has chosen not to educate any of his five children in North Andover public schools and instead home-schools them.
