Dawn,
I sincerely wish you and yours well in your schools. We will no doubt continue to interact on many levels. I appreciate your response.
I still feel the other schools have had a share of changes and loss – when Harry shifted the principals, when budget cuts eliminated a principal in town, when Nancy Jukins retired. Maybe there was less teacher shuffling at other schools during those budget cuts, but I know some of our new Thomson staff came from other elementaries in town. Maybe at the bigger schools, enough veteran staff stayed to make it feel more stable. I’m sure the quick growth in the Thomson student body, through re-districting and turnover in the housing market has also impacted our sense of school community. I agree that the school culture is very important and that it needs attention Thomson.
All best,
Helen
